Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “witchcraft stars” all over Pinterest and Instagram lately, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m not gonna lie, it looked kinda intimidating at first, but it turned out to be way easier than I thought!
First, I gathered my materials. All you really need is some sticks – I just went outside and found some in my backyard – and some twine or string. Oh, and scissors, of course. I opted for some rustic-looking twine to give it that extra witchy vibe.
Making the Star
- I started by laying out five sticks in a star shape. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just get the general shape down.
- Then, I took my twine and started tying the sticks together where they intersected. I just wrapped the twine around a few times and tied a simple knot. Nothing fancy.
- I did have to try a few different ways of doing it, I tried weaving first.
- I continued this process, going around the star and tying all the intersections. It took a little bit of fiddling to get it to hold its shape, but I just kept adjusting the sticks and tightening the twine until it felt sturdy.
- Once I got to the last intersection, I tied a final knot and trimmed the excess twine. And that’s it! Seriously, that’s all there is to it.
I was actually surprised at how quickly it came together. I think the whole thing took me maybe 15 minutes? And now I have this cool, kinda spooky star decoration. I’m thinking I might hang it on my door for Halloween, or maybe even just keep it up year-round. It’s got a nice, natural feel to it.
