Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with this chic gothic fashion vibe lately, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m not gonna lie, it was a bit of a journey, but I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out!
Diving In
First, I scoured Pinterest. I mean, hours of scrolling through endless pictures of dark, romantic outfits. I wanted something that felt edgy but still, you know, wearable for everyday stuff. I started saving anything that caught my eye – lots of black, lace, velvet, and interesting silhouettes.
The Closet Raid
Next, I raided my own closet. I already had some black basics, like a black skirt, and a black top. Those were a good starting point. But I realized I needed some key pieces to really nail the look.
Shopping Trip!
So, I hit the thrift stores. I love thrifting because you can find unique stuff, and it’s way cheaper. I was on the hunt for anything with lace, maybe a cool Victorian-style blouse, or a long, flowy skirt. I also checked out some regular stores for accessories – maybe a choker or some dark, interesting jewelry.

Putting It All Together
This was the fun part! I started experimenting with different combinations. I paired the black skirt with a lace top I found. Then I added a pair of boots.
Making It My Own
- I realized I wanted a pop of color, so I added a dark purple, and I love how it looks against all the black.
- I also played around with textures. Mixing velvet and lace, or adding a leather jacket, really elevated the whole outfit.
- Finally, accessories! A simple silver necklace and a pair of earrings that can finish the look.
It’s still a work in progress, but I’m really feeling this chic gothic style. It’s all about finding that balance between dark and elegant, and making it your own. Can’t wait to keep exploring this!
