Okay, so today I wanted to try something totally different, and you know, get a little crafty. I’ve been seeing these cool “witchcraft star” things all over the place, and I figured, why not give it a shot myself? I’m not exactly known for my artistic abilities, but hey, it’s all about having fun, right?
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to gather my supplies. I literally just grabbed whatever I could find around the house. This included:
- Some sticks from the backyard – I just picked up a bunch, some were kinda gnarly, some were straighter.
- Twine – I think this was leftover from some random project I did like, a year ago.
- Scissors – Gotta cut that twine, you know?
So, with my super professional supplies, I started. I basically just laid out five sticks in a star shape. It took a little bit of fiddling to get them to look somewhat even. I mean, it’s not gonna be perfect, these are sticks from my yard, after all.
The Tying Process
This is where it got a little… interesting. I’m not gonna lie, it was a bit tricky to hold the sticks in place and tie the twine at the same time. I probably should have asked someone for help, but I was determined to do this solo. My hands were definitely cramping.

I started by tying the twine around one of the intersections, just making a simple knot. Then, I wrapped the twine around and around, trying to keep it tight. I wasn’t really following any specific pattern, just kinda going for it. More twine equals more secure, right?
I kept going, tying each point of the star where the sticks crossed. At some points, I had to re-tie things because the sticks would slip, or the twine would get loose. It definitely wasn’t the smoothest process, but I was making progress!
The (Somewhat) Finished Product
After what felt like forever (probably like, 30 minutes), I finally had all the points tied. It… looked like a star! A very rustic, slightly wonky star, but a star nonetheless. I was actually pretty proud of myself.

I trimmed off the extra bits of twine, and there it was. My very own, homemade witchcraft star. It’s definitely not something I’d sell on Etsy, but it’s got its own charm. And honestly, the process was more fun than I expected. I might even try making another one, maybe with some different colored twine or something.
So, yeah, that was my little crafting adventure for the day. It was a nice break from staring at a screen, and I ended up with a quirky little decoration. If you’re looking for a simple, kinda messy, but fun project, definitely give this a try. Just don’t expect perfection, and you’ll be fine!
