Witchcraft Makeup Tutorial: Easy Steps for a Bewitching Look

Witchcraft Makeup: Easy Guide to Dark, Mystical Looks

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “witchcraft makeup” trend all over TikTok and Instagram, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m no makeup artist, but I love experimenting, so I figured, why not?

Gathering My Supplies

First, I dug through my makeup collection. I already had most of the basics:

  • Black eyeliner (liquid and pencil)
  • Dark eyeshadows (blacks, grays, deep purples)
  • A good mascara
  • Some dark lipstick (I went with a deep burgundy)

I also picked up some cheap face gems and some glitter, because, you know, extra.

The Base

I started with my usual foundation and concealer routine. Nothing fancy, just making sure my skin looked relatively even. I contoured a bit more aggressively than usual, really hollowing out my cheekbones to give that slightly gaunt, mystical look.

Eyes: The Smoky Abyss

This is where the fun began. I packed on a black eyeshadow all over my lids, blending it upwards and outwards towards my temples. I used a smaller brush to really smudge it out underneath my lower lash line too. I kept layering the shadow until it was super dark and dramatic. Then, I took a deep purple shade and blended it into the crease to add a bit of dimension. I lined my waterline with the black pencil liner, and coated my lashes with several layers of mascara. It looked, honestly, intense.

Adding the “Witchcraft”

Here’s where those gems and glitter came in. I used a tiny bit of eyelash glue to stick a few small gems around my eyes – some at the outer corners, a couple under my brow bone. Then I dabbed a bit of glitter onto my eyelids, focusing on the inner corners and the center of the lid. I also drew on some random, itty-bitty star shapes. My freehand drawing is garbage but whatever.

Lips and Finishing Touches

I lined my lips with a dark lip liner and filled them in with the burgundy lipstick. I blotted it a bit to make it look more matte and mysterious. I added a touch of highlighter to my cheekbones and the tip of my nose, just to give a little bit of glow amidst all the darkness.

The Final Look

Honestly, I was pretty stoked with how it turned out. It was definitely dramatic, and I felt like I could probably cast a spell or two. It was a little much for a trip to the grocery store, but it was super fun to create. Might try it again with different colors next time!
