Okay, so I’ve been on this huge 90s nostalgia kick lately, and it got me thinking about all those witchy movies I loved back then. I decided to dive deep and make a list – a proper, definitive one. Here’s how it went down:
The Initial Brain Dump
First, I just grabbed a notebook and started jotting down every movie that came to mind. You know, the obvious ones like “The Craft” – gotta have that! And “Practical Magic,” of course. I even threw in some maybe-not-technically-witchcraft-but-close-enough ones, just in case.
Hitting the Web
Then, I fired up my laptop and started searching. Just simple stuff at first, like “90s witch movies”. Man, that brought back some memories! I found a bunch of lists, but they were all over the place. Some were too broad, including stuff from other decades, and others were way too narrow, missing some of my favorites.
The Spreadsheet of Doom (and Delight)
Things got serious. I opened a new spreadsheet – Google Sheets, because I’m all about that cloud life – and started organizing. I made columns for the movie title, year, whether it was actually about witches, and a “notes” section for, well, notes. This is where I started to feel like a real researcher, haha.
Cross-Referencing Like a Boss
- I went through each movie I’d jotted down and checked its release date. Gotta be accurate, right?
- I read summaries, watched trailers (again, for some of them – research!), and dug into fan forums to see what people considered “witchy” enough.
- I added a “maybe” pile. Films such as those featuring fantasy.
The Final Cut
After all that, I had a pretty solid list. I removed some that were more fantasy than witchy, and added a few that I’d totally forgotten about. I even ended up watching a couple of the ones I hadn’t seen in ages, just to be sure. It was tough, but someone had to do it!
