Okay, here’s my blog post about making “tree of life” crystals:
So, I saw these “tree of life” crystal things all over the internet and thought, “Hey, I can totally make that!” I’m a crafty person, I love getting my hands dirty, and I figured this would be a fun little weekend project. Boy, was I in for a ride!
Gathering Supplies
First things first, I needed supplies. I hit up my local craft store – you know, the one with all the glitter and beads you could ever dream of. I grabbed:
- Crystal beads: I went for a mix of colors, because why not? I wanted my tree to be vibrant and full of life.
- Wire: I got some thin, bendy wire. It needed to be strong enough to hold the beads but flexible enough to shape into branches.
- A base: I found this cool, round piece of wood that looked like it would be perfect. You could use anything, really – a rock, a piece of driftwood, whatever floats your boat.
- Pliers: Gotta have pliers to twist and bend that wire!
- Wire cutters: To, you know, cut the wire.
- Glue: To fix the tree.
The Messy Part: Building the Tree
Okay, this is where things got interesting. I started by cutting a bunch of wire pieces. I didn’t really measure, just eyeballed it. Some were long, some were short – it’s a tree, it doesn’t have to be perfect!

Then, I started threading the beads onto the wire. This was kind of therapeutic, actually. Just me, the beads, and the wire. I put different colored beads on each wire, trying to create a somewhat random pattern.
Once I had a bunch of beaded wires, I started twisting them together to form branches. This was trickier than I thought! The wire kept slipping, and my fingers started to hurt. But I persisted, and eventually, I had something that vaguely resembled a tree.
I kept adding more and more branches, twisting and shaping them until I was happy with the overall look. It was definitely a “trust the process” kind of situation.

Putting It All Together
Now it was time to attach the tree to the base. I used my pliers to bend the bottom of the main wire trunk into a little loop, so it would have something to grip onto. Then,I used some glue to secure the tree. I thought it looked pretty good!
The Final Result!
And there you have it! My very own, handmade “tree of life” crystal thingy. It’s not perfect, but I made it, and that’s what matters. It’s now sitting on my desk, adding a little bit of sparkle and good vibes to my workspace. If you’re looking for a fun, slightly messy, but ultimately rewarding project, I definitely recommend giving this a try!
