Tree of Life Crystals Guide: Benefits & Best Choice

DIY Crystal Tree of Life: Step-by-Step Guide & Spiritual Benefits

Okay, here’s my blog post about making a “tree of life” with crystals:

So, I saw this “tree of life” thing all over Pinterest and thought, “Hey, I can totally make that!” I’m not usually super crafty, but it looked pretty straightforward. Plus, I’ve got a ton of random crystals lying around from that one time I went to a gem show and got a little carried away.

Gathering My Supplies

First, I needed to grab all my materials. This is what my list looked like:

  • Crystals: Obviously! I had a bunch of small, tumbled stones in different colors.
  • Wire: I found some copper-colored wire in my junk drawer. No idea what gauge it was, but it seemed bendy enough.
  • A base: I used a cool-looking piece of driftwood I found at the beach last summer. You could use a rock or a piece of wood.
  • Pliers: For bending and cutting the wire. I just used the regular ones from my toolbox.
  • (Optional) Glue: Just in case things got a little wobbly. I ended up not needing it.

The Process – Let’s Get Twisty!

I started by cutting a bunch of wire pieces. I didn’t measure anything; I just eyeballed it. Some were longer, some were shorter – it’s a tree, it’s supposed to be organic, right?

Then, I took one piece of wire and started twisting it around the base of the driftwood. This was the trickiest part, getting it to stay put. I just kept wrapping it until it felt secure.

Next, the fun part! I started adding the crystals. I’d thread a crystal onto a wire, twist the wire a few times to hold it in place, and then keep twisting to make a “branch.” I just kept adding more crystals and branches, spreading them out to make it look like, well, a tree.

It took a bit of fiddling to get the branches to go where I wanted them. Sometimes I’d bend them this way, sometimes that way. I even untwisted a few and re-did them because they looked weird. There’s no real right or wrong way to do it, just whatever looks good to you.

The Finished Product!

After about an hour of twisting and bending, I was done! It actually turned out pretty cool, if I do say so myself. It’s not perfect, but it’s got that handmade charm, you know? It’s sitting on my windowsill now, catching the sunlight. I’m pretty pleased with my little crystal tree of life!

Give it a shot! You can get creative.
