Okay, so today I decided to mess around with “Witchcraft Works”. I’d seen some clips online and thought, “Hey, that looks kinda cool, I wanna try playing with that myself.” I’m not a coder or anything, just a regular dude who likes to tinker.
Getting Started
First thing I did was just watch the anime. Seriously, I needed to know what I was even dealing with. I mean, the title sounds cool, but what’s it actually about? So I binge-watched a few episodes, taking notes on the kinds of magic they use, the symbols, all that jazz.
Then I started thinking, “How can I do something like this?” Obviously, I can’t shoot fireballs from my hands. So I had to get creative.
My Little Experiment
I grabbed some paper and started drawing. I copied some of the symbols I saw in the show, trying to get them as accurate as possible. I’m not a great artist, but I did my best.

- I used a ruler to make sure the lines were straight.
- I used different colored markers to make it look more… magical.
- I even tried to copy the weird chanting they do, just whispering it under my breath. (My neighbors probably think I’m nuts.)
Next, I took some candles. I figured fire magic is a big part of the show, so candles were the closest I could get without burning my house down. I arranged them in a circle around my drawings, trying to mimic some of the scenes I’d seen.
Did It Work?
Of course not! I’m not a wizard. But it was fun! I felt like a little kid again, playing pretend. I even took some pictures to show my friends. They laughed, but hey, at least I had a good time.
My wife gave me a look like “what have you done?”, she is not happy about it.

It’s all about having a little fun and letting your imagination run wild. I might try to learn more about the symbolism and stuff later, just out of curiosity. But for now, I’m happy with my little “Witchcraft Works” experiment.
