Okay, so, “Witchcraft Works,” right? I’d seen the title floating around, figured it was some kinda magical girl thing, maybe worth a shot. I was bored, nothing else to do, so I decided to give the first few episodes a go.
Getting Started
First, I just simply started it. I went to go find it, and watched it. No big preparation, just dove right in.
My Viewing Experience
- Episode 1: The intro was… a lot. Giant robots, a princess, a talking teddy bear. Total chaos. I was honestly confused, but, like, in a “what’s even happening” kinda way that made me want to keep watching.
- Episodes 2-3: Things started to make a little more sense. Got the basic setup: Average dude, super powerful witch protecting him, lots of enemies. It was still pretty over-the-top, but the action scenes were pretty cool. The animation style is kinda unique, I dig it.

Deep Dive (Episodes 4-6)
By this point, I was kinda hooked. I wanted to see how ridiculous it could get. The power scaling is totally bonkers, like, one minute they’re fighting school bullies, the next it’s city-leveling destruction. It’s kinda fun, in a “turn your brain off” sort of way.
Also, started to notice the dynamic between the main characters. It’s… interesting. Very, very protective witch, very, very ordinary guy. It’s a dynamic, that’s for sure. I find myself rolling my eyes, but also chuckling. I am getting invested, whether I intended to or not. I also found myself pausing and rewinding some of the action scenes because, whoa, they really went all out with the animation budget.
Finishing Up (Episodes 7-12)
Things got… weird. Like, even weirder than before. More witches, bigger explosions, more talking animals. The plot got a little convoluted at times, but honestly, I wasn’t really watching it for a deep, complex story. I was there for the spectacle. The characters started doing things, that made my eyebrows hit my hairline, a lot.
Final Thoughts
I finished it! That is my main takeaway. I started, I watched, I finished it. I did other things while doing this, but, this is what I was doing. Did I enjoy it? Yeah, I guess? It was a good time-waster. Would I recommend it? Maybe? If you’re into over-the-top action and don’t mind a bit of confusion, go for it. It’s not gonna win any awards for storytelling, but it’s definitely… something.
