Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “witchcraft knots” all over my witchy TikTok, and I finally decided to give it a try. I’m not gonna lie, I was a little intimidated at first, but it turned out to be way easier than I expected!
Getting Started
First, I gathered my materials. I just used some embroidery floss I had lying around – a nice, deep red color, because, you know, vibes. You could use yarn, ribbon, whatever you’ve got. I also grabbed a pair of scissors, obviously.
The Knotting Process
I found a simple tutorial online – nothing too fancy, just a basic braid with a few extra loops. The key, I realized, is to focus on your intention while you’re knotting. I was doing this one for protection, so I visualized a strong, safe energy flowing into the cord with each knot I tied.
- I started by tying a simple knot at the top, leaving a little loop.
- Then, I separated the floss into three strands and started braiding.
- Every few braids, I made a loop with one of the strands and pulled the other two through. Super simple, really!
- I kept repeating this until I had a decent length. It probably took me, like, 20 minutes? I was watching TV while I did it, so I wasn’t exactly timing myself.
- Finally, I tied another knot at the end to secure everything.
The Finished Product
And that’s it! I ended up with this cool-looking knotted cord. I decided to hang it above my doorway for extra protection. It’s not perfect, a little wonky in places, but I made it with intention, and that’s what matters, right? I’m actually pretty proud of it! I might try a more complicated one next time, maybe with some beads or charms. We’ll see!
