Witchcraft Drawings: How to Get Started, even if you cant draw!

Witchcraft Drawings: A Beginner's Guide to Creative Doodling

Okay, so I’ve been seeing these super cool “witchcraft drawings” all over my feed lately, and I was like, “I gotta try this!” I’m no artist, mind you, but I do enjoy a good doodle session. So, I grabbed my trusty sketchbook and a pencil, and got to work.

Getting Started

First, I needed some inspiration. I browsed a bit online, looking at different styles and themes. Some were super detailed and realistic, others were more whimsical and cartoonish. I decided to go for something in between – a little bit realistic, but with a touch of my own quirky style.

The Sketching Process

I started by lightly sketching out some basic shapes. I wanted to draw a crystal ball, so I drew a big circle. Then, I added a stand underneath it, just some simple lines and curves. I wasn’t too worried about making it perfect at this stage, just getting the general idea down.

  • Circle for the crystal ball.
  • Lines and curves for the stand.
  • Added a little wonky star and it gives a better image.

Next, I started adding some details. I drew some swirly patterns inside the crystal ball to make it look magical, I tried my best!. I added some cracks and imperfections to the stand to give it an old, weathered look. This part was actually pretty fun, just letting my hand flow and seeing what shapes emerged.

Adding Some Flair

Once I was happy with the basic sketch, I went over the lines with a darker pencil, making them more defined. I also added some shading to give the drawing some depth. I’m no expert at shading, but I just kind of smudged the pencil lead around in areas where I thought there would be shadows. It actually turned out pretty decent!

Finally, I added some extra little details to make it more “witchy.” I drew some stars and moons around the crystal ball, and I even added a little cute cat silhouette sitting next to it. Because, why not? Every witch needs a familiar, right?

The Final Result

It’s not a masterpiece, that is obvious, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! It was a fun little project, and it definitely got my creative juices flowing. I might even try drawing some other witchcraft-themed things, like potions or spell books. Who knows, maybe I’ll even become a pro witch artist someday! (Just kidding… mostly.)
