Okay, so I’ve been diving into this whole “types of witchcraft” thing, and let me tell you, it’s a rabbit hole! I started out just wanting to, like, understand what all the different labels meant. I figured it was a simple thing. I was wrong!
First, I grabbed my laptop and started Googling. Just basic stuff like “types of witches” and “witchcraft traditions.” Oh boy. The amount of information out there is overwhelming! I spent a good hour just scrolling through websites and forums, feeling totally lost.
Then, I decided I needed a better approach. So, I made a list – a totally messy, handwritten list – of all the different types I kept seeing. Stuff like:
- Green Witch
- Kitchen Witch
- Hedge Witch
- Eclectic Witch
- …and a whole bunch more!
After that, I went back to the internet, but this time I focused on one type at a time. I read articles, watched some YouTube videos (some were helpful, some were…not so much), and even found a few online communities dedicated to specific types. It was much easier than facing that giant wall of information from before.
Digging Deeper
I started looking for books. My local library had, like, two books on the subject, and they were both super old and dusty.
So, I ordered a couple of newer ones online. It was so much better when the reading material began to present itself.
It’s still a work in progress, honestly. I’m learning as I go. I realized pretty quickly that there’s no one “right” way to do any of this. It’s all super personal and depends on what feels right to you. I’m not even sure I’d label myself as any specific type of witch. Maybe “eclectic” is the closest, since I’m just picking and choosing what resonates with me. For now, I’m just happy exploring and seeing where it all leads!
