Gothic Vintage Fashion Trends: Explore the Dark Side of Style.

Gothic Vintage Fashion Trends: Explore Dark, Dramatic Style

Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with gothic vintage fashion lately. It’s just so cool and different! I wanted to try putting together a look myself, so here’s how it went down.

Digging Through My Closet (and Grandma’s!)

First, I started by raiding my own closet. I didn’t have much that fit the vibe, honestly. A couple of black dresses, some lace-up boots… pretty basic stuff. But then I remembered my grandma has a TON of old clothes.

I called her up, and she was super excited to let me rummage through her attic. Score! We found some amazing pieces – a long, black velvet skirt, a blouse with these crazy puffy sleeves, and even a cameo brooch. It was like stepping back in time!

Thrift Store Adventures

Next, I hit up a few local thrift stores. I figured that would be the best place to find some unique, affordable pieces. It took some digging, but I managed to find a really cool, old-fashioned belt with a big, ornate buckle, and a long, flowing black scarf. I also found this dark purple lipstick,it’s pretty cool.

Putting It All Together

Okay, so this was the fun part. I tried on different combinations of the clothes I found. I started with the velvet skirt and the puffy-sleeved blouse. It looked pretty good, but it needed something more. I added the belt, which really cinched in the waist and gave it a more defined shape.

Then I threw on the scarf, kind of draping it around my shoulders. It definitely added that dramatic, gothic flair I was going for! Finally, I put on the cameo brooch and my lace-up boots.

The Final Look (and Feeling Awesome)

I have to say, I was pretty stoked with how it turned out! It was definitely gothic, definitely vintage, and definitely me. It felt so cool to wear something so different from my usual jeans and t-shirt. I felt like I could be in a Victorian-era vampire movie or something!

I even did my makeup to match, with a dark, smoky eye and that dark purple lipstick. The whole process was a lot of fun, from hunting for the clothes to actually putting the outfit together.

I’m planning to wear this look out to a concert next week. I’m a little nervous, but mostly excited. It’s a bold look, but I think it’ll be perfect for the vibe of the show. I highly recommend trying out this style!
