Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “witchcraft hand tattoos” all over my Pinterest and I just had to try it out myself. I’m not a tattoo artist, obviously, but I’m pretty crafty and I figured, how hard could it be? (Spoiler alert: harder than it looks, but still fun!).
Getting Started
First, I gathered my supplies. I decided to go with temporary tattoo paper because, well, commitment issues. I also needed:
- My trusty printer
- Scissors (the sharper, the better)
- A wet sponge
- And, of course, the designs!
I spent a good hour just browsing online for inspiration. There are SO many cool witchcraft-themed designs out there! I finally settled on a mix of celestial stuff – moons, stars, little constellations – and some more symbolic things like tiny potion bottles and a cute little broomstick.
The Design Process
This was probably the trickiest part. I wanted to arrange the designs on my hand in a way that looked cool, but also, like, made sense. I didn’t want it to look like I just slapped a bunch of stickers on randomly.

So, I printed out a few different versions, cutting out each little design and playing around with the placement on my hand. I took some photos with my phone to see how it looked from different angles. It was a whole process, let me tell you!
Applying the Tattoos
Once I was happy with the layout, it was time for the real deal. I carefully cut out each tattoo, as close to the design as possible. Then, one by one, I peeled off the clear backing, placed the tattoo face-down on my skin, and pressed a wet sponge onto the back for about 30 seconds.
The first few were a little nerve-wracking, I’m not gonna lie. I was so scared of messing them up! But it actually got easier as I went along. The key is to make sure the paper is completely wet, and to hold it really still while it transfers.

The Final Result
Okay, so it’s not perfect. Some of the lines are a little wonky, and a couple of the smaller tattoos didn’t transfer perfectly. But overall, I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out! It definitely gives off that witchy vibe I was going for.
It’s a fun, temporary way to experiment with this style. I’m already thinking about trying out different designs next time! Maybe some crystals or a little black cat? The possibilities are endless!
