Okay, here’s my blog post about my little experiment with witchcraft:
So, I’ve always been curious about the whole “witchcraft” thing. Does it actually work? I mean, you see it in movies and books, but is there any truth to it? I decided to do a super casual, not-at-all-scientific experiment to see if I could get a taste of it myself.
My Little Witchcraft Experiment
First, I spent like, a whole afternoon just Googling stuff. “Beginner spells,” “easy witchcraft,” “does witchcraft even work,” you know, the basics. I found a bunch of websites and blogs, some of which seemed way too intense, and others that felt kinda… cheesy. I was looking for something simple, something that wouldn’t require me to, like, sacrifice a goat or anything.
Eventually, I settled on trying a simple candle spell for attracting good luck. Seemed harmless enough, right? The instructions I found said to get a green candle (green for luck, apparently), carve a symbol for good fortune into it (I just did a four-leaf clover, because I’m not exactly an artist), and then light the candle while focusing on what I wanted to attract.

I went to a local craft store and bought a plain green candle. Nothing fancy, just a regular pillar candle. Back home, I used a kitchen knife (carefully!) to carve my very amateur-looking clover into the wax. It wasn’t pretty, but I figured the intention was more important than the artwork.
Then came the “spell” part. I dimmed the lights, lit the candle, and sat there staring at the flame. I’m not gonna lie, I felt a little silly. I tried to “focus on good luck,” but my mind kept wandering. I thought about my to-do list, what I was going to have for dinner, and whether or not I’d remembered to pay my electricity bill. I was not a master of concentration.
I let the candle burn for about an hour, occasionally refocusing (or trying to) on good luck. Then I blew it out and… that was it. That was my big witchcraft experiment.

The Results (Or Lack Thereof)
So, did it work? Did I suddenly become a magnet for good fortune? Honestly… not really. I didn’t win the lottery, I didn’t stumble upon a pot of gold, and my day-to-day life didn’t magically transform. It was very normal.
But… and this is a big “but”… I did feel a little… different. I think the act of setting an intention, even in a small way, and spending some time focusing on it, had a subtle effect. I felt a bit more positive, a bit more hopeful. Maybe it was just a placebo effect, maybe it was the calming effect of staring at a candle flame, or maybe, just maybe, there was a tiny bit of magic involved.
My conclusion:Is a simple spell going to make you win the lottery? It’s not at all likely. But did doing this simple process make me feel better? I think it helped me feel a bit more positive. So, maybe real magic or placebo effect, the process did make my day better.
