Okay, so I’ve been wanting to spice things up in the bedroom, you know? And I’ve always loved the goth aesthetic – the dark, romantic vibes. But finding lingerie that fits and gives off that edgy look? It’s been a real struggle, let me tell you. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started this little project I like to call “plus size goth lingerie”.
First, I hit up some online stores. I spent hours scrolling, looking for anything that screamed “goth” but also came in my size. It was a pain, for real. Lots of stuff was either too small, too cutesy, or just plain boring. I mean, where’s the drama? Where are the dark colors and edgy detailing?
I did find a few things that were kinda okay, but nothing that really wowed me. So, I thought, why not get crafty? My grandma taught me how to sew a little, and I figured, “Girl, let’s make what we can’t find.”
The Hunt for Materials
I took a trip to the fabric store. I was on a mission to find the perfect materials. I went straight for the black fabrics – lace, velvet, anything with a bit of texture and that dark, mysterious feel. I also grabbed some black ribbon, some little charms, and even some chains, thinking I could get creative with the details.
Getting Down to Business
Back home, I spread everything out on my table. I started with a basic black bralette I already owned. It fit well, but it was super plain. My first step was to add some lace. I carefully cut out some pieces of the black lace and hand-stitched them onto the cups and the band. It instantly looked more interesting!
Then, I played around with the ribbon. I used it to create some criss-cross patterns on the sides, giving it a bit of a corset-like feel. I even added a small, silver skull charm to the center, just for that extra touch of goth.
For the bottoms, I started with a pair of plain black high-waisted panties. Again, comfortable but boring. I used some of the leftover lace to create panels on the sides, and I even added a little chain detail to one hip. Just a subtle touch, but it made a big difference.
The Finished Product (Sort Of)
It took a few evenings of work, but I was really happy with how it turned out! It wasn’t perfect, of course. My stitching wasn’t exactly professional, but it held together, and that’s what mattered. It was exactly the kind of plus-size goth lingerie I’d been searching for. The whole getup felt dark, sensual, and, most importantly, made me feel confident and sexy.
This is just the beginning, though. I’m already brainstorming more ideas. I’m thinking of trying to make a full-on corset next, maybe with some boning and more intricate details. It’s a learning process, but it’s been so much fun – and empowering – to create something that truly fits my style and my body.
