Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into this whole “witchcraft movies” thing for a while now. I kept seeing clips and recommendations online, and, well, I finally decided to dive in. Here’s how it went.
First, I googled “best witchcraft movies.” You know, the usual. I got a bunch of lists, some obvious ones, some I’d never heard of. I jotted down a few that seemed interesting, based on, like, the titles and posters, mostly.
My Watchlist
- The Witch
- Suspiria (both versions!)
- Häxan
- The Craft
- Practical Magic
Then came the hard part – actually finding these movies. Some were on streaming services I already had, sweet! Others… not so much. I ended up having to, ahem, “find” some of them through, shall we say, alternative methods. Don’t judge me!
I started with “The Witch.” Whoa. That movie is intense! Super atmospheric, creepy, and definitely not what I expected. It’s more of a slow-burn horror, really. I watched it with the lights off, which was probably a mistake, because I jumped a few times. The ending, though… still trying to figure that one out.

Next, I tackled “Suspiria” (the original). Talk about a visual feast! The colors, the music, the… everything! It was definitely weird, and the plot was a bit all over the place, but I enjoyed it. It’s one of those movies you just kind of have to experience. It’s just really something that got under my skin.
I’m still working my way through the list. I watched “The Craft” the other night. It was fun, a bit cheesy, but definitely a 90s classic. It made me want to try that “light as a feather, stiff as a board” thing, but I didn’t have enough friends around. It’s probably for the best.
I still need to find and check out the rest of the movies on my list, so I will keep finding and watching them.

So far, it’s been a pretty interesting journey. I’m not sure I’m any closer to understanding actual witchcraft, but I’ve definitely seen some cool movies! I might even make another list, focusing on, like, documentaries or something. Any suggestions are welcome!
