Okay, so I’ve been getting into witchcraft lately, and I wanted to share my first real attempt at a ritual. I’m a total newbie, so don’t expect anything super profound, but it was a cool experience.
Getting Started
First, I decided what I wanted to focus on. I’ve been feeling super stressed about work, so I figured a ritual for peace and calm would be a good start. Then, I did some digging online, looking for basic rituals. I found a bunch of stuff, some of it way too complicated for me.
Gathering My Supplies
I kept it simple. I grabbed:
- A white candle (because I read that white is good for purification and peace).
- Some lavender incense (because it smells nice and is supposed to be relaxing).
- A small bowl of water.
- A comfy cushion to sit on.
The Ritual
I waited until it was dark and quiet. Then, I found a spot in my living room, put the cushion down, and arranged my little “altar” on the floor in front of me. I lit the candle and the incense, took a few deep breaths, and tried to clear my head.

Honestly, my mind was still racing at first. But I just kept focusing on my breath, and the smell of the lavender started to help. I dipped my fingers in the water and sprinkled a few drops around me, imagining it washing away all the stress and negativity. I said some thing like, “I release all tension and welcome peace into my life”.I just repeat this a few times.
I sat there for maybe 15 minutes, just breathing and trying to be present. It wasn’t some magical, earth-shattering experience, but I definitely felt calmer afterward. It was like I had created a little bubble of peace for myself.
Wrapping Up
When I felt ready, I blew out the candle and let the incense burn down. I put everything away, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

It felt good to take some time for myself and do something that felt meaningful, even if it was just a simple little ritual. I’m definitely going to try more of this stuff!
