Crystal Apple Tree: Where to Buy and How to Grow?

How to Make a Crystal Apple Tree: DIY Crafting Tips & Ideas

Okay, so I’ve been seeing these super cool “crystal apple trees” all over the internet, and I just had to try making one myself. I mean, who wouldn’t want a sparkly, magical-looking tree in their house? Let me tell you, the whole process was a bit of a rollercoaster, but the end result? Totally worth it.

Getting Started

First things first, I needed supplies. I grabbed:

  • A bunch of those clear, faceted beads. You know, the kind that look like little crystals? I went for a mix of sizes, just to give it some variety.
  • Some bendy wire. I wasn’t sure what gauge to get, so I just picked up a roll that looked like it would be strong enough to hold the beads, but still easy to twist.
  • A base. I actually used a small, decorative rock I found in my backyard. You could use anything, really – a piece of wood, a fancy dish, whatever you’ve got.
  • Wire cutters. Because, obviously.
  • Pliers. Super helpful for twisting the wire tightly.
  • Hot glue gun. I tried a few others first but found that the Hot glue gun is the best.

I started with branches. I grabbed some beads, then start to put the wire through them and tried to twist and fix them. It seems simple, right? But I found it’s hard to control the shape, I can’t make it looks like what I want. After I finished a few branches, I found that the branches can not stand upright on their own because they are too soft to hold those “crystal” beads.

It’s time to change the plan.

Re-strategizing(A Fancy Word I Picked Up)

After a while, I found a stronger wire that can stand upright, then I use the thin wire to combine them together.

I twisted, and twisted, and twisted some more. My fingers started to hurt, but I was determined to make this tree look amazing.

Bringing It All Together

Finally, I have a tree. But how can I make it stand? I picked up the rock that I found in the backyard. I tried several ways to combine them. I even want to drill a hole on the rock but I don’t have that tool. At last, the hot glue gun solved this problem.

I put them together, and wait for about 30 mins. Wow, it’s done, I got my own “crystal apple tree”! It’s a little janky in places, sure, but I made it! And honestly, it adds a nice little touch of sparkle to my living room. I’m already thinking about making another one, maybe with different colored beads next time!
