Crystal Bow Tree Toppers: DIY Christmas Decor for Extra Sparkle

Okay, so I’ve been seeing these gorgeous crystal bow tree toppers all over Pinterest and Instagram, and I just had to try making one myself. I mean, who doesn’t want a little extra sparkle on their Christmas tree? I thought it would be super complicated, but honestly, it turned out to be way easier than I expected. Let me walk you through what I did!

Gathering My Supplies

First things first, I needed to get my materials together. I made a quick run to the craft store and grabbed a few things:

  • Clear plastic ornaments: I chose a variety pack with a few different sizes, just to give myself some options.
  • Glitter: Because, obviously. I went with a classic silver, but you could totally use any color you like.
  • Ribbon: I picked out a wide, wired ribbon in a shimmery white. The wired edges are key for making the bow hold its shape.
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks: My trusty crafting companion!
  • Some Small Crystals:For The Extra Bling.
  • Scissors:Basic cutting.

Making the Glittery Ornaments

This was the fun part! I started by carefully removing the tops of the ornaments. Then, I poured a generous amount of glitter inside each one. I put the top back on and shook it like crazy until the inside was completely coated in glittery goodness. If you have some empty spots, you can add a little bit of clear glue inside, swirl it around, then add the glitter – that helps it stick better.

Crafting the Bow

Next up, the bow! I unrolled my wired ribbon and cut a looooong piece. Honestly, I didn’t measure, I just eyeballed it. I figured I could always trim it later. I made a classic bow shape, you know, the kind you tie on a present? The wired edges were super helpful here, letting me shape the loops and tails just how I wanted them. I played around with it for a bit until I was happy with the size and fluffiness.

Putting it All Together

Now for the assembly! I used my hot glue gun to attach the glittery ornaments to the center of the bow. I clustered them together, using different sizes to create a kind of sparkly * add the small crystals to the center of the bow.I held them in place for a few seconds until the glue cooled and they were secure.

Finally, I glued a loop of ribbon to the back of the bow so I could hang it on the tree. And that’s it! Seriously, it was so easy, and it looks amazing. My tree is definitely going to be extra sparkly this year!

It is a great DIY job for christmas, and I enjoy it!
