Okay, here’s my blog post about correlating songs with witchcraft, written in the style of a personal, practical journal:
So, I started this whole thing with a simple question: Can I actually find songs that vibe with different witchcraft practices? I mean, there’s tons of music out there, but could I really match them up? I decided to give it a shot.
Digging In
First, I brainstormed some common witchcraft themes. Stuff like:
- Nature and the elements (earth, air, fire, water)
- Divination (tarot, runes, etc.)
- Herbalism and potion-making
- Moon phases and cycles
- Connecting with deities or spirits
Then, I hit up my music library, Spotify, and even some online forums. I was basically looking for anything that felt right. Lyrics were important, sure, but so was the overall mood and feel of the song. A song about fire could be a fast, intense metal track, or it could be a slow, crackling acoustic piece. Both could work, depending on what I was going for.
The Process
I spent a good few hours just listening and making notes. I created a simple spreadsheet (yeah, I’m a nerd) with columns for the witchcraft theme, the song title and artist, and some notes about why I thought it fit. I made some list
- Nature: I tried to find that would fit with the theme.
- Divination:I tried to search for songs about tarot or predicting the future.
- Herbalism : I search songs with this theme too.
- Moon :It wasn’t hard to find some song with this theme.
What I Learned
Honestly, it was way more fun than I expected! It’s kinda like creating a magical soundtrack for your practice. And it really does help to set the mood and get you in the right headspace. Also you can feel more connected with the music that you listen to.
My biggest takeaway? It’s all about feeling. There’s no right or wrong answer. If a song makes you feel connected to the earth, or to your intuition, or whatever, then it works! Don’t overthink it. Just go with what resonates with you.
