Okay, so I’ve been seeing “Western Gothic” all over my Pinterest lately, and I was like, “I gotta try this.” It looked like a fun mix of spooky and stylish, so I decided to give it a shot. Here’s how it went down.
Diving into the Closet
First, I raided my closet. I was looking for anything black, obviously. I found a long, flowy black skirt that I hadn’t worn in ages – score! Then I dug out a black lace top that I thought would work. It’s a little bit see-through, which I figured added to the “gothic” vibe.
I also grabbed a pair of black boots. They’re not super fancy, just regular ankle boots, but they have a bit of a chunky heel, which I thought fit the style.
Accessorizing is Key
This is where it got fun. I rummaged through my jewelry box and found a silver necklace with a cross pendant. Kinda on the nose, but hey, it works! I also found some silver rings, one with a big, dark stone. Perfect!

I love belts to cinch looks in, so I pulled a wide, black belt with a silver buckle. I was thinking it would add some shape to the outfit and make it look a little more “western.”
Putting it All Together
I threw on the skirt and top first. Then I added the belt, making sure it sat at my waist to give me some definition. I slipped on the boots and then started layering on the jewelry. Necklace first, then the rings.
The Final Look
I checked myself out in the mirror. It was definitely giving “Western Gothic”! The long skirt and lace top were flowy and a little bit mysterious, and the boots and belt added that western touch. The jewelry gave it a bit of an edgy, almost witchy vibe. I felt pretty cool, not gonna lie.
