Is Witchcraft Real or Fake? Unpacking the Myths & Truths

Is Witchcraft Real or Fake? My Experiment with Spells and Manifestation

Okay, so the other day I was scrolling through TikTok, as you do, and I kept seeing all these videos about witchcraft. Like, spells and hexes and all that. I’ve always been a bit curious, so I thought, “Why not? Let’s see if this stuff is real.”

My Little Experiment Begins

First, I dug around online. I mean, where else do you start? I found a bunch of websites and forums, some seemed legit, others… not so much. I decided to stick with the ones that seemed more about nature and positive energy. I’m not trying to curse anyone, just see if there’s something to this.

I picked a simple “manifestation” spell. It was supposed to help you attract something you want. I figured I’d try it for a small, realistic goal, nothing crazy. I really wanted to find a cool vintage jacket I’d been searching for, so that became my target.

Gathering My Supplies (aka Stuff from Around the House)

The spell called for a few things:

  • A green candle (apparently green is for prosperity and abundance).
  • A piece of paper and a pen.
  • Some cinnamon (for good luck, I guess?).
  • A small dish.

I managed to find everything except a green candle. I substituted it use a white candle I had lying around. I read somewhere that white can be used as a general substitute, so I went with it.

The Ritual

So, here’s what I did: I waited until it was quiet and I was alone. I lit the candle, took a few deep breaths, and focused on the jacket. I wrote down exactly what I was looking for on the paper – the style, color, even the size. I sprinkled some cinnamon on the paper, folded it up, and placed it in the dish.

Then, I held my hands over the dish and visualized myself finding the jacket. I imagined walking into a thrift store and there it was, hanging on the rack. I repeated a little phrase, something like, “I attract this jacket to me with ease and grace.” (It felt a little silly, but I committed to it!).

I let the candle burn down for a bit (while keeping an eye on it, safety first!), and then I blew it out. I put the dish with the paper somewhere safe, and basically tried to forget about it.

The Results (or Lack Thereof?)

Honestly? Nothing happened. At least, not immediately. I checked the thrift stores, I looked online, but no jacket. I wasn’t too surprised, I mean, I was pretty skeptical to begin with. I figured it was just a fun little experiment and that was that.

I checked my phone one day last week. I suddenly remembered about it. I felt so stupid at that time.I believe the Science now.

So, is witchcraft real? Based on my very limited, one-time experiment… I’d say probably not. Or maybe I just did it wrong. Maybe it takes years of practice. Or maybe it’s all just a bit of fun. Who knows! It was an interesting experience, anyway.
