Okay, so I’ve been diving into this whole “Witchcraft Through the Ages” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started out just kinda poking around, you know, curious about the history and all that.
Getting Started
First, I gathered a bunch of books and articles. I mean, a ton. My living room looked like a library exploded. I spent days just reading, trying to get a handle on the basics. It’s a lot more complicated than just pointy hats and broomsticks, let me tell you.
Digging Deeper
Then, I started looking into different traditions. Like, there’s Wicca, which is pretty modern, and then there are all these older, folk magic practices from different parts of the world. It’s super interesting how much variety there is.
- I focused on European witchcraft first, ’cause that’s what I had the most resources on.
- I read about the witch trials, which was… intense. So much misinformation and fear.
- Then I branched out and started learning about things like herbalism and divination, which are often connected to witchcraft.
Making it Real
Reading is one thing, but the key step is doing somthing real.I decided to try some simple stuff myself.

- Get my own tools, such as some herbs, candles, and crystals.
- Record every single move, and compare the results.
I started with some basic candle magic, just setting intentions and focusing my energy. I also tried growing a few herbs that are traditionally associated with protection and healing. I’m not gonna lie, it felt a little silly at first, but it was also kinda cool. It’s like, connecting with something ancient and powerful.
Still Learning
I’m definitely still a beginner. There’s so much more to learn! But I’m finding it really fascinating, and it’s giving me a new perspective on history and culture. Plus, my little herb garden is thriving, so that’s a bonus!

Next my practical goal will be divination, that would be very interesting!
