Easy Trad Goth Makeup How to Achieve the Classic Look

Easy Trad Goth Makeup Tutorial: Achieve the Classic Look Step by Step

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to try out a trad goth makeup look for ages. I finally decided to just go for it today, and I documented the whole messy, wonderful process.

Getting Started

First things first, I needed a clean slate. So, I washed my face and moisturized. Gotta have a good base, you know? I have really pale skin, so I didn’t want to look completely washed out.

The Base

I grabbed my lightest foundation – I think it’s called “Porcelain” or something equally dramatic – and applied it all over. I blended everything in with my fingers.

Eyes: The Main Event

This is where things get serious. I used a black liquid eyeliner,I lined my upper lash line, making it pretty thick and winging it out. It took a few tries to get the wings even-ish,I ended up with slightly different wings on each eye, but whatever, it’s goth.

I went over the liquid liner with black eyeshadow to soften it. Then, I used the same black eyeshadow under my lower lash line, smudging it out for that smoky, “I haven’t slept in days” vibe.

Finished the eyes with a couple of coats of black mascara. My lashes looked thick and spidery.

Brows and Contour

I lightly filled in my eyebrows with a dark brown pencil, making them a bit more angular than * the contour, I used a gray-toned powder, just under my cheekbones, to hollow them out a bit. I didn’t want to look too sculpted, just… gaunt. In a good way.

Lips: Dark and Dramatic

I chose my lipstick, I used a makeup brush to apply, It’s super dark and vampy, which is exactly what I wanted. I blotted it a bit to make it look more matte and worn-in.

The Final Look

I messed with my hair a bit, teasing it to get some volume and that classic goth disheveled look. I put on a black choker and some silver rings, and that was it!

  • Face: Clean, moisturized, pale foundation, gray-toned contour.
  • Eyes: Thick black winged liner, smudged black eyeshadow, lots of black mascara.
  • Brows: Dark, slightly angular.
  • Lips: Dark, deep red lipstick.

It turned out pretty great!Maybe I’ll even wear this look out sometime. It was a fun experiment, and I definitely feel like I channeled my inner goth today.
