DIY Crystal Beaded Bracelets: Easy Steps for Stunning Handmade Designs

Okay, so I’ve been seeing these super cute crystal beaded bracelets everywhere lately, and I finally decided to try making my own. I’m not gonna lie, it was a bit of a process, but totally worth it in the end!

Gathering My Supplies

First things first, I needed to get my supplies. I went to the local craft store and, I looked all beads. I picked out:

  • Crystal beads: I chose a mix of different sizes and colors, because why not?
  • Stretch cord: This is what you string the beads on. I got the 0.8mm thickness, seemed like a good middle ground.
  • Scissors: For cutting the cord, obviously.
  • Bead stopper(optional): It will be helpful to fix one end.
  • Ruler(optional): I also bought a ruler to help me to measure my wrist.

Getting Started

I started by measuring my wrist.I wrapped the stretch cord around my wrist, giving it a little extra slack, and then cut the cord. Better to have too much cord than not enough!

Then,I fixed the cord on one side, and I started stringing the beads onto the cord. I didn’t really have a pattern in mind, I just kind of went with the flow, mixing and matching the different colors and sizes. This part was actually really relaxing, just focusing on the beads and the colors.

The Tricky Part: Tying the Knot

This is where I struggled a little. Once all the beads were on, it was time to tie the knot to secure everything. The lady at the craft store recommended a surgeon’s knot, which sounded intimidating, but it’s basically just a square knot with an extra loop.

I watched a few videos online (thank goodness for the internet!), and after a few fumbled attempts, I finally got it. The key is to make sure the knot is super tight, otherwise, your bracelet might fall apart. I pulled on the cord really hard to make sure it was secure, and I even added a tiny dab of glue from the craft store to the knot, just for extra peace of mind.

The Finished Product!

After trimming the excess cord, I had my very own crystal beaded bracelet! It turned out so much better than I expected. It’s a little wonky in places, but I think that just adds to its charm. It’s definitely unique, and I made it myself, which makes it even more special.

I’ve already gotten so many compliments on it, and I’m already planning my next one. Maybe I’ll try a different color scheme, or even add some charms. The possibilities are endless!
