Okay, so today I decided to dive into the lyrics of “Witchcraft”. I’ve always loved the song, but I never really got the lyrics, you know? So I figured, why not finally figure out what this song is all about?

I kept going like this, verse by verse, chorus by chorus. Sometimes I had to listen to a line five or six times to really get it. My handwriting is atrocious, by the way, so I was typing everything out to make sure I could actually read it later.
After the First Run-Through
I tried to do with my hearing, I had a document full of what I thought were the lyrics. But honestly, there were still some gaps. Some lines were just mumbled, or the music was too loud, or my ears just weren’t cooperating.
So, I use the search engine, Time to cheat a little! I searched for “Witchcraft lyrics” and boom, a bunch of websites popped up. I picked one that looked legit and compared it to my own notes.
Turns out, I got a lot of it right! But there were definitely some words I messed up. Like, I thought he was saying “magic potion,” but it was actually”It’s Witchcraft”. Makes sense, I guess.

I went through my document, correcting my mistakes and filling in the blanks. It was like putting together a puzzle. A very lyrical, slightly confusing puzzle.
Finally, after all that listening, typing, and searching, I had a complete set of lyrics! I felt like a real detective, cracking the code of the song.
Now, whenever I listen to “Witchcraft,” I can actually sing along without mumbling through the parts I don’t know. And I appreciate the song even more, now that I understand what it’s all about.
