Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole “witchcraft cat” idea, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started with just a simple sketch, you know, like those cute black cats with oversized witch hats. I figured, “Hey, I can do that!”
Getting Started
- First, I grabbed my sketchbook and a pencil. Nothing fancy, just regular stuff.
- I started sketching a basic cat shape. It looked more like a potato at first, honestly.
- Then, I added some big, round eyes. Gotta make it look cute, right?
- Next up, the witch hat! I drew a huge, floppy hat that was almost bigger than the cat itself.
It was… okay. But it felt kinda boring, plain, just cat shape with a hat. So I decided to spice things up.
Adding Some Magic
I thought, “What if the cat was, like, casting a spell?” So I added a little magic wand – just a simple stick with a star on top. I drew some swirly lines around the wand, like magical energy or something.
- I used a fineliner pen to make the lines darker and bolder.
- I added some sparkles and stars around the cat. Gotta have that magical vibe!
- I erased some of the pencil lines to clean everything up.
It was looking much better! But something was still missing. I wanted to give it more… personality.

Giving it Personality (and Color!)
I decided to add some color. I’m not a pro with colors, so I kept it simple. I did use color pencil for this.
- I colored the cat black, of course. Classic witch cat color!
- The hat got a dark purple color.
- I made the magical swirls and stars a bright, glowing yellow.
- Also, give cat’s eye with a yellow color.
And there it was! My witchcraft cat. It’s not perfect, I still got long way to learning, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s cute, it’s magical, and it’s got that little spark of personality I was going for. Maybe I’ll try adding a cauldron next time, or a little broomstick! I love it, and I think I should give more shot to different drawing theme later.
