Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… uh… beautiful gothic makeup thing, ya hear? I don’t know much about fancy words or nothin’, but I can tell ya what looks good and what don’t.
First off, them lips gotta be dark, real dark. Like, the color of a ripe plum, or maybe even blacker than a crow sittin’ on a fence post at midnight. Don’t be shy with it, girl! Slap it on thick, like you’re spreadin’ butter on a hot biscuit. Some folks like red, but not just any red, mind you. It gotta be a deep, dark red, like the color of blood after it’s been sittin’ for a while. You know what I mean?
Now, the eyes, that’s where the magic happens. You gotta make ’em look big and mysterious, like a cat prowlin’ in the shadows. That black eyeliner stuff, use lots of it. Draw it all around your eyes, thick and heavy. Don’t be afraid to make it messy, a little smudged is good, makes you look like you been up to no good all night. And them… uh… eyeshadows? Gotta be dark too. Think grays, blacks, and maybe even some purples if you’re feelin’ fancy. Some folks even draw little spiderwebs and stuff around their eyes. I ain’t never tried that, seems kinda silly to me, but if you like it, go for it.
And then there’s the skin. It gotta be pale, real pale. Like you ain’t seen the sun in a month of Sundays. I reckon that’s why them city folks always lookin’ so peaked, they ain’t gettin’ no good sunshine like us country folk. But anyway, pale skin makes them dark lips and eyes pop, see? It’s all about contrast, like a white flower in a field of dirt. You know, like them white petunias I used to grow, they always looked prettier against the dark soil.
-
Dark Lips: Like I said, dark, dark, dark! Plum, black, or deep red.
-
Dramatic Eyes: Lots of that black eyeliner stuff and dark eyeshadows. Make ’em big and mysterious.
-
Pale Skin: Like you ain’t been outside in a long time. Makes the dark makeup stand out.
Now, I hear tell there’s different kinds of this… gothic makeup. Some folks like it all smudged and messy, kinda like they just rolled outta bed after a long night of… well, whatever them city folks do at night. They call it “grungy” I think. They use browns and grays and don’t put on too much of that face paint stuff. Just a little bit to make their cheekbones look sharp, like they been workin’ hard in the fields all day, even though I bet they ain’t never lifted a finger in their lives.
And then there’s this “emo” look, whatever that is. Sounds like a bunch of whiny kids to me. But they like them cat eyes too, just like the gothic folks. But they don’t use so much of that… uh… eyeshadow. Just enough to make their eyes look smoky. I saw one of them emo kids at the store the other day. Looked like they hadn’t slept in a week. Kids these days, I tell ya.
But whether you’re goin’ for the full-on gothic look, the grungy look, or even that emo look, it’s all about makin’ a statement. It’s about showin’ the world who you are, even if who you are is a little… different. And that’s alright. We all different in our own ways, ain’t we? Like them city folks with their fancy cars and us country folks with our pickup trucks. We all just tryin’ to get by in this world the best way we know how.
So, if you wanna try this beautiful gothic makeup, go ahead and give it a whirl. Don’t be afraid to experiment, to try new things. And don’t worry about what other folks think. If you like it, that’s all that matters. Just remember what I told ya: dark lips, dark eyes, and pale skin. And for goodness sake, don’t forget to wash it all off before you go to bed, or you’ll end up with a pillowcase that looks like you wrestled a raccoon.
Express yourself, have fun, and don’t take yourself too seriously. After all, it’s just makeup, not the end of the world.
