Beautiful Gothic Makeup Ideas: From Everyday to Extraordinary

Alright, let’s talk about this beautiful gothic makeup, you know, the kind them youngsters are wearin’ these days. I saw a gal at the market the other day, looked like she stepped right outta one of them spooky movies. But, gotta say, it was kinda…interestin’. So, I figured, why not yak about it a bit?

First off, what is this gothic makeup stuff anyway? Well, from what I gather, it’s all about bein’ dramatic. You know, like them soap operas, but on your face! They use all sorts of dark colors. We ain’t talkin’ about no rosy pinks here, no sirree. We’re talkin’ dark lips, like, the color of a ripe plum, or even black as night! Can you imagine? Black lipstick! When I was young, we used beet juice for a little color, that’s about it.

Then there’s the eyes. Oh, them eyes! They go all out with the eyeliner, thick as a marker pen, and all around the eye, like a raccoon, but on purpose, you know? And the eyeshadow, Lord have mercy, it’s dark too! Black, gray, sometimes even purple. I heard tell some of ‘em even draw spiderwebs around their eyes. Spiderwebs! Can you believe it? Them kids and their imaginations.

  • Dark Lips: Deep purples, blacks, and dark reds. Makes you look like you ate a whole blackberry pie, without washin’ your face.
  • Dramatic Eyes: Heavy eyeliner, dark eyeshadows, like you ain’t slept in a week, but in a fancy way.
  • Pale Skin: Now, this is the kicker. They want their skin to be white as a sheet. Like they never seen the sun. When I was workin’ the fields, we tried to get a tan, now they wanna look like ghosts!

But it ain’t just about bein’ dark and spooky, there’s different kinds, you see. There’s this grungy makeup, which is kinda messy-lookin’. They smudge the eyeliner, like they been cryin’ or somethin’. And the eyeshadow, it ain’t so bright, more like dirt colors, browns and grays. They don’t put on much of that face paint stuff, the foundation, I think they call it. Just a little bit, or maybe none at all. They want it to look…natural, but like a messy natural, if that makes any sense.

Then there’s this emo makeup, which is a whole other thing. Them emo kids, they like the cat eyes. You know, like a cat, with the eyeliner flickin’ up at the end? And they do the smoky eye thing too. All dark and mysterious. Seems like they all like that dark eye look, no matter what kinda gothic they are.

Now, I ain’t sayin’ I understand it all. It seems like a lot of work to me, all that paintin’ and smudgin’. And frankly, it scares me a little, all that darkness. But, I guess it’s their way of expressin’ themselves. Like how I express myself by makin’ a good pot of stew, they express themselves by makin’ their faces look like somethin’ out of a horror movie. To each their own, I always say.

And you know, some of it ain’t half bad. Them dark lips, they can be kinda pretty, in a strange sort of way. And the eyes, well, they sure do stand out. It’s like they’re tryin’ to tell a story with their faces. A dark and mysterious story, mind you, but a story nonetheless. So, if you see a young’un with all that dark makeup, don’t go jumpin’ to conclusions. They ain’t necessarily bad kids. They’re just…expressin’ themselves. And maybe, just maybe, they’re tryin’ to be beautiful in their own way.

Gothic makeup is more than just black and white. It’s about creativity, and finding your own style. It’s about taking somethin’ dark and makin’ it…well, makin’ it somethin’ else. Somethin’ interestin’. Somethin’ that makes you look twice. And maybe, just maybe, that’s the whole point.

So, there you have it. My two cents on this beautiful gothic makeup. I still don’t quite get it, but I reckon I understand it a little better now. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even try a little bit myself. Just kiddin’! I’ll stick to my beet juice, thank you very much.
