Okay, so I’ve been seeing these goth lingerie sets all over my socials, and I finally decided to jump in and try making one myself. I’m not a pro sewer or anything, but I like to get crafty, and I figured, why not?
Finding the Right Stuff
First, I needed to gather my materials. I wanted something with that classic goth vibe – lots of black, obviously. I went to my local fabric store.
- Black lace: I chose a stretchy lace for the main part because it’s forgiving and comfy.
- Black satin: For some accents, I like the contrast of textures.
- Elastic: For the straps and bands, I used different widths for different parts.
- Rings and sliders:The little metal bits to make the straps adjustable.
- Sewing stuff: Matching thread, needles, pins, scissors, the usual.
Putting it Together, One Step at a Time
I started with the bra. I’m no expert, just free handing here I cut out some triangle-ish shapes from the lace, making sure they were big enough to, you know, cover things up. Then, I used some of the satin to line the bottom edge of the cups – just a little strip to add some detail and structure. Sewed those together, and boom, basic bra shape!
Next, I attached the elastic straps. I measured them around myself to get a good fit, and I used those little sliders so I could adjust them later. I sewed the straps to the top of the cups and the back, making sure to reinforce those points with extra stitches because I do not want any wardrobe malfunctions.
For the bottoms, I went with a simple high-waisted design. Again, I just cut out the lace – two pieces, front and back – and sewed them together at the sides. I added a wide elastic band at the top for the waistband, making sure it was snug but not too tight. Added a little satin bow at the front because, why not? It’s the details, right?

The Final Touches (and a Bit of a Struggle)
The trickiest part was probably adding some extra lace details around the edges of the bottoms and along the bra straps. Getting the lace to lay flat and not bunch up was a bit of a pain, but with some patience (and a few curse words), I got there.
I even added some little metal rings to connect the bra straps to the cups, just to give it that extra bit of edgy, goth flair. Took me a while, but so worth it.
Honestly, the whole thing took me a couple of evenings, working on it a few hours at a time. It’s definitely not perfect – there are some wonky seams and the lace isn’t perfectly symmetrical – but I’m pretty proud of it! It’s comfortable, it looks cool, and it’s way cheaper than buying one of those fancy sets online. Plus, I made it myself, which is always a good feeling.
If I do another one I think I will plan it out better!
