Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “goth lingerie aesthetic” thing all over my feed, and honestly, I was intrigued. I’m not usually a “goth” person, but the lacy, dark vibes? I kinda dig it. So, I decided to give it a shot myself and document the whole shebang.
The Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed to figure out what even counts as goth lingerie. I did some digging, lots of scrolling through images. I noticed a few key things:
- Lots of Black: Obviously. Black lace, black satin, black everything.
- Lace is Queen: Seriously, lace was everywhere. Delicate, intricate, the works.
- Strappy Details: Think harnesses, cages, lots of straps connecting things.
- Touch Satin:Think is smooth, a little bright,
- Hardware: Buckles, little rings, sometimes even chains.
- Vintage Vibes: A lot of it had this old-school, almost Victorian feel.
Gathering the Goods
Armed with this knowledge, I hit up a few stores. I didn’t want to go full-on costume, so I looked for pieces that I could potentially wear in, you know, real life.
I grabbed a black lace bralette with some strappy details, it is so exciting.
And I picked up a high-waisted, mostly because it looked cool and I figured it would be comfortable.
Putting It All Together
Time for the fun part! I started with the basics, just the bralette and . I gotta say, even just that felt pretty badass. The black lace was definitely giving off the vibe I was going for.
I messed around with my hair a bit, went for a messy, slightly undone look.
Dark lipstick felt like a must. I’m no makeup expert, but I smudged it out a bit to make it look a little less “perfect”.
I added a few silver rings, not super shiny, just some basic ones I already had.
The lighting was important too. I turned off the overhead lights and just used a lamp with a warm bulb. It gave everything this softer, more mysterious glow.
The Final Look
Okay, so I’m not gonna lie, I felt pretty good. It wasn’t exactly my everyday style, but it was fun to step outside my comfort zone. It was surprisingly empowering, like I was channeling some inner dark queen or something. The whole process was way more fun than I expected.
I snapped a few pictures, mostly for myself, just to see how it all looked. They turned out pretty cool, if I do say so myself! It’s definitely something I’d try again, maybe with a few different pieces next time. Who knows, maybe I’ll even start incorporating some of these elements into my regular wardrobe. Black lace is pretty versatile, right?
