Okay, here’s my blog post about making a crystal bead bracelet:
So, I’ve been seeing these super cute crystal bead bracelets everywhere, and I thought, “I can totally make that!” I’m not a super crafty person, but I do like trying new things, so I decided to give it a shot. Plus, making it myself means I get to pick out all the colors and beads.
Getting Started
First, I went to the local craft store. Man, it was overwhelming! So many beads! I grabbed a basket and just started wandering around. I knew I wanted some crystal beads, but there are, like, a million different kinds. Round ones, square ones, sparkly ones, matte ones…it was a lot.
- I picked out some round, clear crystal beads in a few different sizes.
- I also found some smaller, colored beads to use as accents. I went with a light pink and a pale blue – they looked really pretty together.
- Then, I needed some stretchy string. I found some clear elastic cord that seemed strong enough.
- Oh, and I also grabbed a pair of small pliers and some scissors, just in case.
Making the Bracelet
Back home, I laid out all my supplies on the table. My cat was immediately interested, of course, so I had to keep shooing her away. First step: I measured my wrist with the elastic cord and added a few extra inches so I could tie it off later. I cut the cord, and then it was time to start stringing the beads!

I didn’t really have a plan, I just started putting beads on the cord. I alternated between the clear crystal beads and the colored ones, trying to make it look somewhat balanced. It was actually kind of relaxing, just focusing on the beads and the pattern. My cat, after losing interest gave up. She sat to the side watching.
Once I had all the beads on, I checked the fit again. It seemed good, so it was time to tie it off. This was the trickiest part! I made a double knot, and then I added a tiny drop of glue to the knot, just to be sure it wouldn’t come undone. Then, I used the pliers to help me tighten the knot as much as possible. Finally, I trimmed the excess cord with the scissors.
The Finished Product!
And that was it! My very own crystal bead bracelet. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, and it was fun to make something with my own hands. Now I’m thinking about making a few more, maybe with different colors or types of beads. I might even try making some as gifts!
