Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “gothic lingerie” thing popping up all over my Pinterest and decided, “Why not?” I’m all about trying new styles, and I figured it would be a fun little project to document.
First Steps: Finding Inspiration
First, I needed to figure out what exactly “gothic lingerie” even is. Is it all just black lace? Spikes? I spent a good hour just scrolling through images, saving anything that caught my eye. It was a mix of things – some super elaborate, almost costume-y stuff, and some more subtle pieces that just had a darker, edgier vibe.
The Hunt Begins!
Once I had a better idea of what I was looking for, I started browsing, you know I wouldn’t pay too much for something I may only wear a few times. No way!
Trying Things On (and Feeling Awkward)
- Set 1: The “Too Much” Set. It had chains. And buckles. And way too many straps. I felt like I was getting tangled in a spiderweb. It was definitely a “no.”
- Set 2: The “Almost There” Set. Black lace, pretty classic, but it had these little velvet details that I really liked. It was comfortable, too, which is a major plus. This one was a contender.
- Set 3: The “Surprisingly Cute” Set. This one was a bit different – it had a deep red color instead of black, with some black lace overlay. I wasn’t sure about the color at first, but it ended up looking really good!

The Verdict
After much deliberation (and a few awkward selfies to compare), I ended up going with Set 3, the deep red one. I think adding a few black accessories, could make this one a real winner for a gothic look.
It was fun to * who knows, maybe I’ll even wear it out sometime… or at least for a fun photo shoot.
