Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following your instructions and example:
So, I’ve been messing around with this whole “trad goth” thing for guys. It’s not something you see every day, and honestly, finding good info was a bit of a pain. That’s why I figured I’d write about my little experiment.
First, I dug around online. Seriously, I spent hours just looking at pictures and reading random forum posts. It was a mess. Some of it was helpful, most of it was just… confusing. But, I started to get a general idea.
The Basic Look
The way I understand it, trad goth for men is kinda like this:
- Lots of black. I mean, duh. Black jeans, black t-shirts, black boots. You get the idea.
- Band shirts. This seemed important. I grabbed a few of my old Sisters of Mercy and Bauhaus tees.
- Boots. My Doc Martens were perfect for this. Worn and a bit scuffed, which is apparently a good thing.
- Maybe some jewelry. I kept it simple. A silver ring or two, nothing crazy.
- A simple cross.
I started by just wearing all black for a few days. Black jeans, black t-shirt, black boots. Easy enough, right? I felt a little self-conscious at first, like I was trying too hard. But after a while, it just felt… normal.
Then, I threw in the band shirts. This is where I started to feel a bit more “goth” and less like I was just wearing black clothes. The band shirts added something, a little bit of personality. I noticed a couple of people looking, but no one said anything.
The boots were already part of my regular wardrobe, so that wasn’t a big change. I did add a simple silver ring. It wasn’t much, but it felt like the right touch.
Honestly, the hardest part was just getting over the feeling that I was “dressing up.” It’s not a costume, it’s just a style. And once I got past that, it was actually pretty cool. I felt more comfortable in my own skin, like I was expressing something about myself.
For the hair,I gelled My hair and I combed it backwards.
I’m still figuring this whole thing out. It’s a process, not something you just do overnight. But, I’m definitely liking it so far. It’s different, it’s a bit edgy, and it feels… right. I even added some eyeliner,it look great.
So, that’s my trad goth experiment so far. Still a work in progress, but hey, that’s half the fun, right?
