Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, channeling my inner mature, helpful blogger, and following all your instructions:
So, I wanted to try out a simple trad goth makeup look. I’ve always admired it, but felt a little intimidated. Figured it was time to just go for it!
I started by prepping my skin. I washed my face with a gentle cleanser, then applied a light moisturizer. Gotta have a good base, you know?

Getting That Pale Base
- Next up: foundation. I picked a shade way lighter than my natural skin tone. Like, several shades lighter.
- I used a damp sponge to really blend it in. My goal was that pale, almost porcelain look.
- I patted the foundation on instead of rubbing. Avoid cakey-ness at all cost!
- I also use foundation on my neck.
Eyes are the Key
For the eyes, classic black is the way to go.
- I grabbed my trusty black liquid eyeliner. Felt tip is easiest for me.
- I lined my upper lash line, making it pretty thick. No subtle lines here!
- Then I winged it out. Not a huge, dramatic wing, but definitely noticeable.
- I did my lower lash line too. I connected it to the upper liner at the outer corner of my eye.
- Lots of black mascara! I applied several coats to both top and bottom lashes.
Eyebrow
I use black Eyebrow pencil to draw my eyebrow.
Don’t Forget the Lips!
I use a deep red lipstick.
Finishing Touches
Lastly, I wanted to set everything.

- I dusted a translucent powder all over my face. This helps the makeup last longer.
- I also applied a light dusting of powder blush, then I applied a black blush.
And that’s it! It wasn’t as hard as I thought. It’s definitely a bold look, I feel good.
