Witchcraft Art for Beginners: Easy DIY Tutorial & Creative Tips

Okay, so today I decided to mess around with “witchcraft art,” just for fun. I’ve always been a bit fascinated by the aesthetic, you know? So, I thought, why not give it a try?

Getting Started

First, I gathered some supplies. Nothing fancy, really. I grabbed:

  • Some plain paper (just regular printer paper, nothing special)
  • A few pencils (different shades, from light to dark)
  • A black pen (a fine-liner, for details)
  • An eraser (because, let’s be honest, mistakes happen)
  • Some dried leaves and flowers (I picked these up from my garden earlier)

The Messy Process

I didn’t really have a plan, I just started sketching. I began with a basic circle, just to have a central point. Then, I doodled some wavy lines around it, kind of like energy flowing or something. I’m not sure, it just felt right.

Next, I added some of the dried leaves and flowers, positioning them around the circle. I didn’t glue them down or anything, just placed them there to see how they looked. I wanted to get a feel for the composition before committing to anything.

I used the pencils to draw some simple symbols. I’m no expert, so I just went with what felt intuitive. A few triangles, some crescent moons, a couple of spirals… that kind of thing. I tried to keep it loose and not overthink it.

Then came the pen. I carefully traced over some of the pencil lines, adding more definition to the shapes. I also added some tiny dots and lines, just to fill in some of the empty space and give it a bit more texture. This part was a bit tricky, my hand was a little shaky!

I erased a lot! There are lot’s of mistakes I made, some pencil lines are not that satisfying, some pen lines are too * really took me some time to adjust my work.

The Final Result (Sort Of)

Honestly, it’s not a masterpiece. It’s pretty rough around the edges, and it’s definitely not something I’d hang on my wall. But you know what? I enjoyed the process. It was relaxing and meditative, just letting my hands do their thing without worrying about perfection. I did it!

I might try this again sometime, maybe with some different materials. Maybe some watercolors, or some colored pencils. Who knows? The possibilities are endless, and that’s kind of the fun of it, right?
