Okay, dudes, so I decided to try out that trad goth makeup look. It’s something I’ve been curious about for a while, and I finally took the plunge. Here’s how it went down:
Prep Time
First, I made sure my face was clean. I washed it with my usual cleanser and then applied some moisturizer. Gotta have a good base, you know?
The Base
Next up, the foundation. I don’t usually wear foundation, so this was new territory. I picked a shade that was, like, two shades lighter than my normal skin tone. I applied it with a sponge, trying to get it even. It felt kinda weird, to be honest, but I went with it.
Eyeshadow Action
Then came the fun part – eyeshadow! I used a black eyeshadow, of course. I started by applying it all over my eyelids, then I blended it upwards towards my eyebrows. I also put some under my eyes, along the lower lash line. I tried to make it look smoky, but not too crazy.

Eyeliner Time
Eyeliner was next. I used a liquid eyeliner because I wanted a sharp line. I drew a line along my upper lash line, making it a bit thicker towards the outer corner. Then I did the same on my lower lash line, connecting the two lines at the corner. It took a few tries to get it right, my hand was shaking, man!
Mascara and Brows
I applied a couple of coats of black mascara to my lashes, top and bottom. I also filled in my eyebrows a bit with a dark brown pencil, making them a little more defined.
Lipstick
I used a black lipstick next. I applied carefully.

Setting Everything
Finally, I dusted some translucent powder all over my face to set the makeup. I didn’t want it to smudge, I was going out with some of my friend that night!
The Result
Overall, I was pretty happy with how it turned out! It definitely looked goth, and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. It felt a bit strange wearing so much makeup, but I kinda liked * was cool.
So, that’s my trad goth makeup experiment. It was a fun experience, and I might even try it again sometime. Maybe I’ll experiment with different colors or techniques next time. Who knows? Rock on!
